Christ For Community
Sharing Good news to the world

Michael and Daisy Johnson

Christ For Community (CFC) launched with a dream in 1986 by Michael Johnson along with his wife Daisy.   It was to share the love of Christ to the community using a part of their financial blessings which God has given to them.  Since Michael was working in Real estate industry, God gave him a vision to start a ministry in the same Housing field. From his childhood onwards God has given the opportunity to see and feel the pain and struggle of less fortunate people living without a house to live. Initially he started to do it in their home towns of Ranny and Othara in a small scale level with the support of their parents.   It was the humble beginning of the first home building project  in the history of Pentecostal community in Kerala in a large scale, by inviting applications from qualified candidates through GOOD NEWS organization.  Michael used his funds during the years 1986 through 1990.  Late. Br. V.M.Mathew (Goodnews founder), Bros. C.V. Mathew (Goodnews Chief editor, Kottayam), Joseph Thannickal (Former IPC  General Treasurer) and Pastor. K.M. George (Former PMG  President, Trivandrum)  were the key persons took responsibility  to make it successful.  Late Pastor. K.V. Kurian, ICA, New York), Late Rev. John Daniel (ICA, New York) and Rev. Samkutty Chacko (Current Halleluya weekly Editor), Rev. Roy Vakathanam were also involved in this project.   It has been proved that we can make a difference in the community by sharing a portion of our financial blessings. After that many churches and individuals came forward with open heart to continue this ministry as their home building project through Goodnews charitable organization.  God is still at work through many churches and individuals.  Now more than 6000 houses are built for less fortunate families and still it is continuing.

We are thankful to all our dear ones who are standing with us in this ministry of gospel sharing.  We are thankful to all our families including Good news family, PMG group family, IPC family, ICA New York family, Karimkutty family, Ponnolil family and our Christ For Community Family world wide (CFC) for making this effort successful in sharing the good news of Salvation through our Jesus Christ as much as we can.  Let all glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ For Community (Non-profit) is a Christian ministry with a single goal to reach souls with good news of Jesus Christ.  We hope and pray that this media also will help some more souls will be attracted to our Lord Jesus Christ.  Thank you for suscribing and sharing it to your friends.

Christ For Community and Community For Christ.

The family is the basic social unit of community. Family life is full of challenges, but families can serve the community as contributing members. It is in the family and community that we begin to play, share, help and to love. There are times when each of us needs help finding better ways of solving our problems. There’s no single answer that will make everything perfect, but with a little commitment, organization and hard work, we can have happy and healthy homes in our community.

Community can function as the second family to provide spiritual support to members. Being a part of spiritual community members can share their burdens, needs and experience the joy of fellowship. The family that prays together stays together.  Peace and happiness in the among husband, wife and children are the most important components of family.  God instituted the first marriage in the garden of Eden joining the man and woman and blessed them to multiply with children.   Even in the midst of conflicts, stress and crisis, a blessed family can survive with the help of God . Community can function as a correcting agency, before the conflict defeat a family.

Families must do things together in order to be successful. Eating, playing together and working together can help them to create a lot of time together for sharing experiences and memories and it will unite them and strengthen them.  Effective communication is the basis of family strength which can contributes a lot to the development of  community. Strong family values are not just accidental.  Family members become strong and caring people because the family has carefully cultivated practices to support those values.

Individuals and families who are not well connected to their communities and one another are at greater risk for depression, suicide, and criminal behavior. It has been proved that youth who feel a part of their community are more likely to abide by the community‘s laws and standards for behavior. Similarly, children who feel connected to their families are more likely to live by the rules of the family. So let’s connect the families in our community and let’s be strong.

Community with  love, peace, healing and the joy of salvation through Jesus Christ

  • Building homes in community is our vision by creating a special enviornment of joy, peace and happiness through Jesus Christ. A house is just a  structure with brick, concrete or wood and there is no particular emotional aspect for it.  But each house can be turned in to homes once the people in it decide to create a peaceful atmosphere.  These homes can be a blessing for the community and we together can  make it happen.
  • Connecting one another is another aspect of a healthy community. CFC is created with a vision to reach out to the community with the true gospel of Jesus Christ,  in obedience to His great command.  Our mission is to present the salvation plan of Christ  to every individual so  that our community as a whole can be connected to one another  in this present world and the world to come - Eternity.
  • Encouraging one another is another  key aspect of a healthy community. A gift, a note with a word of appreciation, praying  together for others need and pain are extremely important.  CFC welcomes everyone as a fellow recipient of God’s love, grace, healing and hope.  It is a fact that when  we comfort others who are suffering, we ourselves also find comfort and joy. Solomon wrote: The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverb 18:21). We can help our brothers and sisters in our community to lift them out of depression and to renew their strength and hope.
  • Sharing one another is another factor of a healthy community. It is important to carry each others physical, emotional, spiritual and material burdens. If a member is in need, grief, sad, anxious or worried with family situations, we shall help one another - being there with them, expressing  care, listening to them and praying with them.  God created humans as social beings, but many people are  missing fellowship and feel lonely.  “Carry each others burdens, and this way you will fulfill the Law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)
  • Peaceful Community live in unity and  grow without division.  We will not be able to accomplish anything without unity.  Even though there is diversity in opinion, faith and tradition, we can experience unity. It can be achieved only by  seeking the will of God together instead of being stubborn to make things with personal interest. In the midst of disagreements we must be able to speak calmly, lovingly, humbly, peacefully, gently, and patiently, so that we can manifest the fruit of the spirit expecting great blessings from Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
  • Joyful Community experience the characteristics of feeling and expressing deep happiness and enthusiasm.  It can be achived by living according to God’s design,  trusting in Jesus Christ as our savior, receiving forgiveness for   our sin and having fellowship with God and others around us. Through Christ broken relationships can be restored.
  • Community can be local to international representing all nations, races, colors, ages and cultural backgrounds together work for the betterment and spiritual future of our nation through a network of communication, education and fellowships.  No matter where you live, you can find a fellowship or bible study for yourself  in your local community.

"You make a living by what you make, you make a life by what you give."
